Demand for marine fuels is changing, led in part by the need for low sulphur variants to meet Emission Control Area (ECA) shipping legislation. The journey is just beginning with regards to the awareness and understanding of how the variety of fuels can work together onboard marine vessels. ExxonMobil’s Ken Lim explains the fuel properties that impact the stability and compatibility of different marine fuels. Understanding these fuel properties will become increasingly important due to the number of marine fuel products coming to the market, which are designed to meet the demand for ECA shipping compliance.
