Zschimmer & Schwarz expands with Surcell oil & gas portfolio

Zschimmer & Schwarz, a global leader in chemical specialities and auxiliaries, has strengthened its Industrial Specialities Division with the acquisition of Surcell S.A.’s portfolio for the oil and gas industry in Argentina. Effective January 2025, the deal reinforces Zschimmer & Schwarz’s market presence in Latin America and supports its global expansion strategy.

The acquisition forms part of Zschimmer & Schwarz’s broader strategy to enhance its foothold in Latin America, with long-term plans to expand into the U.S. and Europe.

 “This acquisition will enable us to expand our  existing portfolio of chemical solutions for the oil and gas industry and thus further  strengthen our position in the industrial specialities sector,” said Dr. Christoph  Riemer, chief executive officer of the Zschimmer & Schwarz Group. 

Portfolio enhancement and technology transfer 

The transaction includes the transfer of Surcell’s entire portfolio for the oil and gas  industry, along with all customer relationships. The portfolio of speciality chemicals will be integrated into Zschimmer & Schwarz’s Argentinian subsidiary, Zschimmer &  Schwarz Argentina S.A.
