YPF to produce lubricants for Volvo in Argentina

Argentina’s YPF has signed an agreement to produce lubricants to be sold by Volvo for use in its trucks and buses.

“The three-year agreement involves the production of lubricants for engines, gearboxes and transmissions for Volvo trucks and buses,” the automaker said in a statement. The products will be sold through Volvo’s network of official dealers.

Volvo already markets YPF Blue 32 urea, which is essential for heavy diesel engines with Euro 5 technology to meet emission standards under an agreement signed by the two companies more than three years ago.

Through this new agreement, the Swedish truckmaker strengthens the bond its alliance with the national oil company.

The Volvo Group has a network of 22 points of attention and service throughout the country, as well as six workshops within customer facilities.

“For approval as a supplier to the Volvo Group at an international level, YPF’s lubricant was subjected to global quality tests that include trials and tests on the characteristics of the product, as well as on the manufacturing process,” the automaker said.
