Wolf Lubricants launches CORS for the off-road HDEO market
Wolf Lubricants, which is part of the Wolf Oil Corporation based in Hemiksem, Belgium, unveiled its latest innovation, the Wolf Complete Off-Road Solution (CORS), during the Intermat trade show at Paris Nord Villepinte from April 24 to April 27, 2024. This new CORS product range includes a selection of five lubricants designed to meet the demands of 90% of the heavy-duty engine oil (HDEO) off-road market, the company said.
Wolf CORS is specifically engineered to enhance fleet productivity, uptime, and reduce operational costs in the construction, agriculture, and mining industries. The CORS concept integrates advanced fluid management, addressing severe challenges such as heavy loading, extended idling, and extreme weather conditions.
Within the concept, Wolf presented two new products: CORS 10W-30 FE and CORS 15W-40. These are multi-functional fluids covering all applications for construction, agriculture and mining machines: engines, hydraulic systems, manual and powershift transmissions, gears, axles and brake systems. “In a nutshell, one lubricant for all components,” says Elvic Mottelay, global heavy-duty sales manager.
Formulated for versatility in markets with cold to moderate climates, CORS 10W-30 FE offers a high-performance ACEA E11 / API CK-4 formulation guaranteeing fuel savings in low-emission diesel engines with or without diesel particulate filters. Wolf has also tailored a product specific to those markets with warm climates or where inconsistent fuel quality can be a problem. Under these conditions, it is highly recommended to use high viscosity lubricants that preserve their characteristics and ensure wear protection. With a high Total Base Number (TBN), CORS 15W-40 is well-suited for markets with lower-quality fuels with high sulfur content. It offers improved efficiency and is compatible with diesel engines without particulate filters: Euro II, Euro III, and some Euro IV engines.
“Wolf’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement has led us to a revolutionary approach in the heavy-duty off-road sector. With the launch of our Complete Off-Road Solution (CORS) concept, we are shifting the lubricant technology landscape. The development of this compact range has been a meticulous process, guided by our in-house R&D teams,” said Johan Van Hove, senior technical training manager.
