Viva Energy announces changes to executive leadership team
Viva Energy Group Limited has announced that Jevan Bouzo, currently chief operating and financial officer, will be appointed chief executive, Convenience and Mobility. This new role will have responsibility for the combined Coles Express and Viva Energy Retail businesses, together with the broader development and execution of new energies and other mobility-related offers as they are implemented across the company’s retail network in Australia.
After joining Viva Energy in 2015, Bouzo was appointed chief financial officer in 2018 and to the expanded role of chief operating and financial officer in 2021. During his time with the company, Bouzo has been responsible for supply chain operations, distribution and logistics, fuel procurement, scheduling, wholesale supply and commercial pricing as well as finance, tax, treasury, group procurement and insurance. Bouzo played an integral role in the listing of Viva Energy on ASX. He will be supported in his new role by a leadership team which will draw from the existing Coles Express and Viva Energy leadership teams.
Megan Foster, currently executive general manager, Retail, will continue in her role to support a smooth transition to Bouzo, after which she will leave the company to pursue the next chapter in her career.
Carolyn Pedic has been appointed as chief financial officer and will join the company on January 1, 2023. Pedic brings extensive industry experience to the position, with over 20 years’ experience in finance and risk management roles across energy and mining.
Most recently, Pedic was group financial controller at BHP and, prior to that, head of Wholesale Markets Risk at AGL Energy. She has also spent more than 15 years in professional services firms, EY and PwC, focusing on financial advisory and audit services in the energy sector.
Jennifer Gray has been appointed as executive general manager, Supply Chain. Gray has had an extensive career in Retail, Wholesale and Supply across Shell and Viva Energy, and currently leads the company’s Liberty Wholesale business.
“Over the last year we have made a number of important announcements which are shaping our business, including most recently the acquisition of Coles Express, which will transform not only our Retail fuels business but our broader company by creating Australia’s largest integrated convenience and mobility network under a single operator and welcoming around 6,000 new team members into our fold. Today we have announced a number of leadership team changes which will support our transformation agenda,” said Viva Energy Chief Executive Officer Scott Wyatt.
“Jevan was an integral member of the leadership team that transitioned the company from private ownership to a public listing. He has been an outstanding chief financial officer and chief operating officer and will bring a deep knowledge of our business, markets, and strategic agenda to this important new role driving our evolving convenience and mobility business.
“I am delighted to welcome Carolyn Pedic to the company. Carolyn’s experience in the energy sector and in senior finance and risk management roles make her well placed to lead our finance, treasury and tax functions. Jennifer Gray has had an extensive career with Viva Energy and Shell, most recently as CEO Liberty Wholesale, and brings significant supply chain and operations experience to the EGM Supply Chain role.
“Finally, I would like to thank Megan for her leadership and tremendous contribution to our success. Megan has led the Retail fuels business since she joined the company, delivering consecutive years of strong performance and successfully leading the business through the pandemic and a particularly challenging period for us all. She has made a big impact to the development of our company culture, and leaves retail in a strong position to begin the next chapter as part of the broader convenience and mobility business. On behalf of the Board, I thank Megan and wish her well for her future.”
