VinFast announces key leadership changes for global growth
VinFast, Vietnam’s electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has announced a significant leadership reshuffle, marking a new chapter in its journey. Effective immediately, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, founder and chairman of Vingroup, VinFast’s parent company, will transition from his role as chairman of VinFast’s Board of Directors to take on the role of chief executive officer (CEO). He will maintain his position as a director and now also serve as managing director. Concurrently, Madame Le Thi Thu Thuy will move from her position as CEO to become the chairwoman of the Board of Directors.
VinFast, a subsidiary of Vingroup, aims to lead the global smart electric vehicle revolution. Founded in 2017, VinFast operates a cutting-edge automotive manufacturing facility in Hai Phong, Vietnam, known for its high automation and scalability.
Additionally, VinFast has appointed Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh as the new chief financial officer, succeeding David Mansfield. This leadership evolution follows VinFast’s significant growth and achievements, including its successful foray into the North American market and its U.S. listing.
Thuy expressed pride in VinFast’s accomplishments, highlighting its rapid development of an extensive EV portfolio and entry into the global automotive market. She looks forward to continuing her engagement with external stakeholders and fundraising efforts in her new role as chairwoman, focusing on VinFast’s mission and governance standards.
Pham, with his extensive experience in founding and growing VinFast and leading Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest conglomerate, is deemed uniquely qualified to lead VinFast as CEO during this crucial development phase. He has been chairman of VinFast’s Board since March 2022 and was the first Vietnamese billionaire listed by Forbes magazine.
Thuy, transitioning to chairwoman, has been with Vingroup since 2008, serving in various leadership roles, including CEO of Vingroup and VinSmart Research & Manufacturer Joint Stock Company. She has been chairwoman of VinFast and vice chairwoman of Vingroup since VinFast’s inception in 2017.
Lan Anh, the incoming CFO, joined Vingroup in 2020 and brings a deep understanding of the company’s operations, including her previous roles as deputy CEO of Finance & Operations and CFO of VinES Energy Solution JSC, Vingroup’s battery division. She holds accounting certifications from both the UK and Australia.
