Valvoline partners with RIMSA to expand in Mexico
Valvoline™ Global Operations has entered into a strategic partnership with RIMSA, a leading Mexican automotive distributor, to strengthen its presence across six key states in Mexico.
Effective from 1 March 2025, the collaboration aims to broaden the availability of Valvoline’s full range of premium motor oils—including its award-winning Restore & Protect Premium Full Synthetic—alongside transmission fluids and gear oils.
With more than 45 years of experience, RIMSA brings a well-established distribution network and market insight to the partnership, which is expected to accelerate Valvoline’s expansion efforts across Veracruz, Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Morelos.
“Working with RIMSA will accelerate our expansion in Mexico,” said Gustavo Schmidt, vice president and general manager for Latin America at Valvoline. “We’re excited to bring premium products and services to more customers through this collaboration.”
The agreement reflects shared values between the two companies, including integrity and a commitment to customer satisfaction. RIMSA’s sales managers will play a pivotal role in the implementation and success of the partnership.
RIMSA will offer Valvoline’s full portfolio, from mineral to full synthetic motor oils, as well as the brand’s transmission fluids and gear oils, which hold the top sales positions in the United States, according to Circana data.
This latest move reinforces Valvoline’s global growth strategy under the ownership of Aramco, one of the world’s largest integrated energy and chemicals companies. The brand continues to innovate across combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicle platforms.
