Univar Solutions acquires Brad-Chem for corrosion control growth
Univar Solutions LLC has acquired Brad-Chem Holdings, a UK-based leader in corrosion control products and lubricant additives, strengthening its Ingredients & Specialties business across Europe. The acquisition also includes Brad-Kem, a joint venture co-owned by Brad-Chem and Belgium-based DEM.
Brad-Chem specialises in the distribution and blending of specialty lubricant additives, corrosion inhibitors, copper passivators, solid lubricants, and dispersions, supplying more than 40 countries across Europe. This acquisition enhances Univar Solutions’ capabilities in lubricants, metal treatment, coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers (CASE), deicing, and water treatment.
Expanding market reach in specialty additives
Nick Powell, president of Global Ingredients & Specialties at Univar Solutions, commented: “This acquisition progresses our ambitious goals to strengthen the support we provide customers across Europe, by offering a larger portfolio of specialty products and additive blending capabilities in the Lubricants and Metalworking Fluids, and Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers (CASE) markets.”
The acquisition will allow Univar Solutions to deliver advanced solutions to customers by combining Brad-Chem’s innovative products with Univar’s global distribution network and technical expertise.
Matthew Oliver, global vice president of Performance Materials at Univar Solutions, added: “The acquisition is an exciting opportunity for our Performance Materials business to meet increasing customer demand for specialty base stocks and functional additives that can help our customers formulate high-performance products that reduce energy usage, extend service life, and improve corrosion management.”
