Submission Guidelines for Technical Presentations

• A technical presentation describes advances in technology, problem resolution, product design and project status. In contrast, commercial presentations can be on a specific product offering or recent corporate developments.

• Technical papers presented at F+L Week undergo a peer review process; commercial presentations do not. A limited number of commercial slots are reserved each day of the conference and can be booked by clicking here. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), individuals who are well-versed in the topic being presented, generally make technical presentations. Part of the challenge of preparing and presenting technical material is gauging the knowledge level of the audience. Based on historical data, 60% of participants at F+L Week are engaged in technical functions, whereas 40% are either in sales, marketing or upper management. The audience is predominantly Asian or professionals working in Asia where English is only a second language.

• To propose a technical presentation at F+L Week, you must submit a 500-word abstract on or before September 30, 2018. This abstract will undergo the peer review process. Please send along with the abstract, the name of the author/s and their respective biographies. Also indicate if the proposal is for oral or written presentation only. Click here to submit your abstract.

• The paper selection process will be completed by November 13, 2018. Once your paper is selected, you must submit a draft Powerpoint presentation on or before December 15, 2018 for peer review.

• After completion of the peer review on January 29, 2019, we may recommend that changes be made in the final presentation. The deadline for submitting the final presentation is on or before February 16, 2019.

• The length of the oral presentation is 30 minutes. Speakers would also be involved in one or more panel discussions.
