STLC launches engine oils meeting API SQ, ILSAC GF-7
S-OIL TotalEnergies Lubricants Co., Ltd. (STLC) has unveiled a new range of engine oils that meet the latest API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 performance standards, aimed at enhancing fuel efficiency and engine protection in modern petrol engines.
The new products include:
- TotalEnergies Quartz: Quartz 9000 XTRA Future XT, Quartz 9000 Future GF7, Quartz 7000 Future GF7
- S-OIL: S-OIL 7 EV HYBRID, S-OIL 7 RED #9 SQ, S-OIL 7 RED #7 ECO SQ
These engine oils are engineered to provide improved timing chain wear protection, reduce low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI), and enhance piston cleanliness. They support better fuel economy and lower emissions—key considerations for both vehicle owners and manufacturers navigating tighter environmental regulations.
“Our new API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 certified products showcase our technological expertise and commitment to innovation,” said Patrice Devemy, CEO of STLC. “True to the slogan of this launch project, ‘Driver of Change,’ we will continue to proactively lead the industry with cutting-edge technology, investing in the development of premium lubricants that deliver superior vehicle performance and benefits to our end users.”
STLC, a joint venture between South Korea’s S-OIL and France’s TotalEnergies, markets high-quality lubricants under its flagship brands, S-OIL 7 and Quartz. The company recently surpassed a cumulative production milestone of two million tonnes in South Korea, reinforcing its leadership in the domestic lubricants market.
