Navigating Through an Evolving Additive Industry
The Covid-19 pandemic, supply chain upheavals and energy transition have created a perfect storm for many businesses including the additive industry. Oronite’s Vice President of Commercial shares his perspective on how these events have shaped the industry in the recent past and for the future.
Looking ahead, he contemplates the importance of several factors to remain successful in the industry; ranging from fundamentals such as reliability of supply, to developing and manufacturing new products to meet the requirements of a lower carbon world. As Oronite’s Singapore Manufacturing Plant achieves a milestone of 25 years in operation in the Asia-Pacific region, he also reflects on how the progress of the plant mirrors the company’s efforts to keep abreast of the current energy transition.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Goh Koon Eng joined Chevron in 1991 as a Planning & Services Manager based in Singapore, and has since held a variety of positions with increasing responsibilities within Oronite, including General Manager Regional Supply Chain, Asia Pacific Regional Sales Manager, GM Manufacturing & Supply Chain (Singapore), GM Manufacturing & Supply Chain (Oak Point), General Manager Scout Program (China Manufacturing Plant) and most recently as General Manager Manufacturing & Supply Chain Asia Pacific Region (including China and Japan).
Goh was appointed as Vice President, Products and Technology for Chevron Oronite from January 2020. He is currently the Vice President of Commercial for Chevron Oronite and is based in Singapore.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National University of Singapore, and received a Master’s degree in Business Administration also from the National University of Singapore.
