ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Ahmad Adly Alias is the Vice President of Downstream Refining, Marketing and Trading in PETRONAS. He oversees the refining, marketing and trading of the downstream business, including refining, lubricants and specialty products in more than 100 countries. He joined PETRONAS in 1993 as part of the Planning & Recruitment team in the Human Resources Department, and went on to have stints in multiple areas, including Corporate Planning & Development (CPDD), Commercial Business Department in PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd (PDB), and Group Strategic Planning. He also headed the Strategic Initiatives and Chemical & Special Products section of ENGEN's Sales & Marketing Division prior to heading LPG Trading in PETRONAS Trading Corporation (PETCO). He ventured into the LNG Business in 2012 by heading the Marketing division for Korea, Taiwan and China. He was subsequently appointed as the CEO of PETRONAS LNG LTD in 2013, and then Vice President of LNG Marketing & Trading in the Gas & New Energy division from 2014 to 2020. He assumed his current position in 2020. Adly sits on the Board of various PETRONAS subsidiaries. Most notably, he is the Chairman of PETRONAS Lubricants International (PLI) and ENGEN LTD. He holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Corporate Finance & Investment from the State University of New York at Buffalo, New York, United States.
