Soltex acquires DSI Ventures: A strategic move in the chemical sector
Soltex, Inc., a chemical manufacturer and distributor based in The Woodlands, Texas, U.S.A., announced its acquisition of DSI Ventures, Inc., a recognised figure in the dielectric fluid industry.
Dielectric fluids, also known as insulating fluids, are liquids that are non-conductive and can withstand high electric fields without breaking down and becoming conductive. Their primary purpose is to provide electrical insulation, suppress electrical discharges and arcs, and serve as a coolant in electrical systems.
Based in Tyler, Texas, U.S.A., DSI Ventures introduced the newest generation of functional fluids in 1994, by developing synthetic oils to replace petroleum and silicone-based fluids. An ISO 9001-2015 certified company, DSI Ventures, Inc., is known for its eco-friendly lubricants and electrical insulating products. They excel in crafting solutions that prioritise environmental sustainability, lubrication, and heat transfer efficiency.
The acquisition, which took effect on September 15, 2023, is a testament to Soltex’s commitment to broadening its market reach and enhancing its service to key sectors like immersion cooling data centres, electric vehicle fluids, and battery storage.
Glenn Bohny, president of Soltex, expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating that the addition of DSI complements Soltex’s growth strategy. “This move not only enriches our product offerings but also propels us further into the data centre fluid and e-mobility markets, enabling us to cater to a wider customer base,” Bohny said.
Dawn Allen, president of DSI Ventures, echoed Bohny’s sentiments. “Joining the Soltex team is a significant milestone for us,” Allen said. “This collaboration is more than just expanding our product range. It’s about leveraging the combined expertise of two industry giants to deliver unmatched value to our clients. DSI’s profound knowledge of the electric vehicle sector aligns flawlessly with Soltex’s innovative approach, paving the way for groundbreaking advancements in AI and immersion cooling technologies.”
