Shell unveils new FuelSave Diesel with advanced triple-action formula

Shell Commercial Fuels has launched a new formulation of Shell FuelSave Diesel, aimed at improving fuel economy and engine performance for heavy-duty vehicles in the transport, construction, mining, and agriculture sectors. The advanced triple-action formula promises up to 3.75% better fuel economy and enhanced power recovery, making it a significant upgrade for businesses relying on diesel-engine technology.

Key features of Shell FuelSave Diesel

– Advanced cleaning properties: The new formulation provides a deeper clean, removing fuel injector nozzle deposits and internal diesel injector deposits (IDIDs). This helps to maintain optimal engine performance and prevent costly breakdowns.

– Protection for exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems: By preventing deposit build-up in EGR systems, the fuel enhances vehicle reliability and reduces maintenance needs.

– Improved fuel economy: Customers can expect up to 3.75% improvement in fuel economy, which translates to significant cost savings and efficiency gains.

– Power recovery: The formulation achieves up to 83% power recovery, ensuring that operators get the most out of their equipment.

Shairan Huzani Husain, managing director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd, emphasised Shell’s commitment to reducing environmental impact and lowering total cost of ownership for businesses. “We aim to help reduce total cost of ownership for businesses that rely on advanced diesel-engine technology to elevate their growth for a more profitable business,” he said.

“Increasing costs, shifting supply chains and new ways of working have forced businesses to adapt quickly. On top of these setbacks, technologies continue to advance, engine maintenance becomes crucial and fuel choice becomes increasingly important.”

Voo Ket Chung (KC), country business manager for Commercial Fuels at Shell Malaysia, noted the challenges faced by the industry, including increasing costs, new ways of working, and tightening emission targets. “Our new formulation of Shell FuelSave Diesel is designed to ease these challenges by ensuring equipment is less likely to fall foul of engine deposits,” Chung added.

The new Shell FuelSave Diesel formulation became available in Malaysia starting July 17, 2024. This product is expected to make a significant impact on various industries by improving fuel efficiency, reducing downtime, and lowering maintenance costs.
