Shell opens first unmanned convenience store in Malaysia

Shell Malaysia recently launched its first Shell Select powered by BingoBox Retail Technology, a 24-hour unmanned convenience petrol mart which accepts cashless payments.

“Our mission is to make life’s journey better for our customers and we believe that Shell Select powered by BingoBox Retail Technology will do exactly that. With the help of technology, our Shell site employees now have more time to attend to customers’ needs thus ensuring that they are able to leave our station a little happier,” said Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd Shairan Huzani Husain.

Shell Select powered by BingoBox Retail Technology offers a seamless, technology-driven, experience.

To enter the store, customers need to scan a QR code available on the BingoBox app using their mobile devices. From there, customers can select the items they want to purchase, scan the items’ barcode and pay at the checkout counter using either a credit or debit card, the BingoBox app or the Boost ewallet.

Malaysians can download the BingoBox mobile application from the App store (for iOS users) or the Google Play Store (for Android users), and stop by the Shell Select store Shell Jalan Tun Razak to experience this new technology.
