Savita Oil launches Savsol Ester 5 lubricant product range
Savita Oil Technologies Limited, which is known for its Savsol brand of lubricants, has introduced Savsol Ester 5, a range of lubricants formulated using advanced ester technology. Ester-based lubricants are known for their excellent lubrication properties, high thermal stability, and biodegradability. They are typically used in applications requiring high-performance lubrication, such as in automotive engines, industrial machinery, and other high-stress environments where superior lubricant performance is crucial.
The product launch by Savita Oil, with headquarters in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, signifies a transformative step in the company’s product offerings.
The company also announced the appointment of Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra as Brand Ambassador. The company said this would help it to enhance its brand visibility and reach, and forge a stronger bond with customers and consumers.
Gautam N. Mehra, chairman and managing director of Savita Oil, expressed enthusiasm about the new launch. “We are thrilled to unveil our path-breaking ester fluid technology. With Sidharth Malhotra on board, we are poised to reach new heights of excellence and continue delivering exceptional products and experiences for our customers,” he stated.

After years of R&D efforts we are proud to be able to deliver this advanced chemistry across a product range, optimised for the everyday commuter,” said Sidharth G. Mehra, executive director, Savita Oil.
Savita Oil commissioned its new synthetic ester plant with an expandable capacity of 8,000 metric tonnes per year, in Mahad, Maharashtra, India, on October 17, 2023. The company plans to increase its output from the current 2,000 metric tonnes to 4,000 metric tonnes by October 2024.
Ester refers to a group of synthetic lubricant base stocks derived from organic acids and alcohols, which are categorised as Group V in the base oil classification system of the American Petroleum Institute or API. Group V is a catch-all category for base oils that do not fit into the other groups (I through IV). This group includes various types of chemically engineered oils other than PAOs, such as phosphate esters, polyalkylene glycols (PAGs), and various other synthetic esters.
