ROWE introduces SUNSPEED, a 100% biosynthetic engine oil

ROWE MINERALÖLWERK GMBH has unveiled its latest innovation, ROWE SUNSPEED®, a fully synthetic engine oil developed entirely from plant biomass. This pioneering product combines maximum sustainability with high performance, addressing the growing demand for eco-friendly motor oils without compromising quality.

“We are in the midst of a societal shift,” said Managing Director Dr. Alexandra Kohlmann. “ROWE is proud to offer a sustainable motor oil that not only fills a crucial gap in the industry but also aligns with consumer needs and environmental consciousness.”

For more than 25 years, ROWE has focused on creating top-tier lubricants, and SUNSPEED® marks a significant breakthrough. Free from fossil-based mineral oils, SUNSPEED® uses high-performance synthetic hydrocarbons synthesised from vegetable fats. This results in a negative carbon footprint, making it one of the most environmentally conscious lubricants available today. The product range includes six automotive oils and a specialised racing oil.

“Performance is non-negotiable,” said Otto Botz, lead product developer. “For years, our motorsport team, ROWE Racing, has utilised a formulation based entirely on plant-derived biomass. This in-house expertise has now been refined to benefit everyday drivers.”

With a variety of viscosities and refillable compatibility with conventional oils, SUNSPEED® offers an easy switch for drivers looking for a sustainable alternative.
