Renault extends partnership with Castrol to customer racing activities
Renault Sport Racing announced a new partnership with Castrol that will see the lubricant brand from the international energy group BP support the French manufacturer’s customer racing activities for the next five years.
Castrol and Renault Sport Racing formalised this agreement linked to customer racing during an event held on 27 January at the Atelier Renault on the Champs-Élysées in Paris.
Running through 2024, this long-term technical and commercial collaboration will give all Renault Sport Racing customer racing activities access to Castrol’s unique expertise, cutting-edge technologies and high-performance lubricants.
Castrol will benefit from the significant exposure in the categories promoted by Renault Sport Racing, which will include the Clio Cup France, Clio Trophy France and Formula Renault Eurocup, as well as Clio Cup Italia, Spain, UK and Central Europe.
The Castrol logos will appear on the communication platforms of the different categories, the Renault Sport Racing staff kits as well as the competing cars and driver and crew racing suits. Castrol will also enjoy strong on-track visibility at the majority of Formula Renault Eurocup meetings.
On a wider scale, this agreement reflects Groupe Renault’s global strategy, whose partnership with Castrol has been significantly strengthened since their first collaboration in Formula 1 in 2017.
As the official lubricant supplier of the Enstone technical centre and Viry-Châtillon engine operations base, Castrol also supports Renault F1 Team on-track activities. Groupe Renault has also selected Castrol as its aftersales’ global service fill engine oil partner so that Renault customers and dealerships. The two entities are also working together to develop advanced mobility solutions to explore future opportunities and meet the challenges in this rapidly evolving market.
With the new agreement, Renault Sport Racing and Castrol will further strengthen their commercial and marketing links in order to bring their respective networks closer together in the customer racing markets, using motorsport as a communication vehicle to address a wider audience.
