Quaker Houghton unveils 2023 sustainability achievements

Quaker Houghton, the global leader in industrial process fluids, has proudly unveiled its 2023 Sustainability Report, marking significant progress in its environmental initiatives. The report was released on April 22, 2024, and offers a comprehensive look at the company’s efforts to integrate sustainable practices across its operations.

According to Andy Tometich, CEO and president of Quaker Houghton, the company has not only met but exceeded its sustainability goals for the year. “In 2023, we continued to advance our sustainability initiatives, making targeted investments to strengthen the foundation of our integrated strategy,” Tometich noted. He highlighted the achievement of the 2023 milestones and the receipt of the EcoVadis Silver Award as testament to the company’s commitment to its 2030 sustainability goals.

The report outlines several key achievements:

• Over 26,000 metric tons of waste were eliminated in 2023 through Quaker Houghton’s QH FLUIDCARE™ partner locations, with a total of more than 47,000 metric tons eliminated since 2022.
• Renewable sources accounted for 71% of the company’s global energy consumption, utilising grid solar energy and purchased contracts.
• All non-U.S. manufacturing sites have achieved ISO 14001 certification, underscoring the company’s commitment to environmental management standards.
• The company ensured that 100% of its direct suppliers with an annual spend above USD100,000 adhere to its Supplier Code of Conduct.

Quaker Houghton also set new sustainability milestones for 2025, aiming to continue its progress across various environmental, social, and governance (ESG) facets.
