Pilot Chemical appoints VP to lead growth and innovation
Pilot Chemical Company, a leading global manufacturer of specialty chemicals, has appointed Graeme Biggin as vice president of Growth and Innovation, effective immediately. Biggin will be responsible for steering the company’s growth strategy and cultivating a company-wide culture of innovation.
Reporting directly to President and COO Christian MacIver, Biggin brings 28 years of international experience in business development and innovation within the oleochemical and specialty chemical sectors.
“Graeme is an experienced leader who knows how to turn market trends and unmet customer needs into growth opportunities, from ideation through commercialization,” said MacIver.
Prior to joining Pilot, Biggin co-founded and served as president of Natural Sweeteners, a company focused on sustainable sweetening solutions. He previously held the role of president at Durabilis Sweeteners and spent nearly seven years as business development director at Jacob Stern & Sons, Inc., where he led sustainable growth efforts for specialty chemical products derived from natural feedstocks.
Biggin has also held senior product and business management roles in the United States, Asia, and the United Kingdom, supporting companies with global reach. He earned a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Glasgow and pursued doctoral education in Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Edinburgh.
“Pilot has a fantastic reputation for quality specialty surfactants and a strong, successful culture,” said Biggin. “I am looking forward to adding my experience to the team to help develop and innovate our way to growth and more success.”
Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A., Pilot Chemical operates additional facilities across Ohio, Texas, New Jersey, and Mexico.
Biggin will be based out of Pilot Chemical’s corporate headquarters in West Chester, Ohio, and its Technical and Innovation Centre in Sharonville, Ohio.
