Phoenix Petroleum Philippines names new COO
Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. has appointed Henry Albert “Bong” Fadullon as its new chief operating officer.
Fadullon succeeds Romeo de Guzman, who was appointed vice chairman of the company’s board of directors.
Phoenix Petroleum President and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Uy said in a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) that Fadullon’s appointment is a clear demonstration of the company’s rigorous search for the best management talent in the Philippine downstream oil industry. He said the move “reflects our fundamental belief that Phoenix Petroleum is on track to becoming a major player in the business.”
Fadullon was general manager of Shell Shared Services (Asia) BV before joining the fastest growing independent oil marketer in the Philippines. Fadullon has spent a total of 25 years in the oil industry.
De Guzman joined Phoenix Petroleum in 2009, as the company started to expand outside Mindanao. Phoenix Petroleum, which is based in Davao, is the only oil company headquartered in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao. De Guzman oversaw the expansion of Phoenix Petroleum’s retail outlets from 32 stations in 2009 to 505 in 2016. During this time period, Phoenix Petroleum’s sales volume grew from 28 million litres to 1.5 billion litres.
In his new role as vice chairman and senior strategic adviser, De Guzman “will continue to guide us with his valuable expertise, experience, and knowledge of the industry,” according to Uy.
Phoenix Petroleum is engaged in the trading refined petroleum products, including finished lubricants, the operation of oil depots and storage facilities, shipping and logistics, and related services.
