PETRONAS Dagangan appoints Azureen Azita Abdullah as COO

PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) has announced the appointment of Azureen Azita Abdullah as its new chief operating officer (COO), effective June 1, 2024. Abdullah will succeed Khalil Jaffri Muhammad Muri, who is stepping down due to staff mobility within the PETRONAS group.

PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad is the principal marketing arm of PETRONAS, Malaysia’s national oil and gas company. PDB is responsible for the marketing and distribution of petroleum products, including refined petroleum products and lubricants, across Malaysia and other regions. It operates in the retail, commercial, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) sectors

Abdullah, 47, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. She is currently the general manager of Downstream Digital & Innovation at PETRONAS. Her extensive career within PETRONAS includes roles such as head of Downstream Digital in 2021, general manager of Retail Sales and Operations at PDG in 2018, and head of Retail Sales and Operations at PDG in 2016.

She holds a degree in Materials Science and Engineering (Hons) from Swansea University, Wales, UK.

Abdullah’s appointment is expected to drive innovation and operational excellence at PDG. Her background in digital innovation and retail operations aligns with PETRONAS Dagangan’s strategic goals of enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.
