Petro-Canada launches DURON UHP 10W-30 for fleets

Petro-Canada Lubricants, a brand of HF Sinclair, has launched DURON UHP 10W-30, a full synthetic heavy-duty diesel engine oil designed to deliver enhanced fuel economy and superior engine protection for modern fleets.

The low-viscosity formulation of DURON UHP 10W-30 provides up to 1% fuel economy improvement compared to SAE 15W-40, reducing operating costs and improving total cost of ownership. It also ensures optimal engine durability by preventing sludge, deposit build-up, and wear, thereby extending service intervals and minimising maintenance downtime.

Advanced protection for modern diesel engines

DURON UHP 10W-30 has been engineered to withstand extreme temperatures and demanding operating conditions, offering key benefits such as:

  • Superior engine protection – Strong oil film prevents wear in high-temperature conditions, reducing the risk of costly repairs.
  • Cold weather performance – Improved low-temperature fluidity ensures quicker starts and minimises engine stress.
  • Idle resistance – Resists oil breakdown under prolonged idling, keeping engines cleaner and enhancing fuel efficiency.
  • Extended drain intervals – Oxidation stability and shear resistance allow for longer oil life, reducing the need for frequent changes.

Melissa Mastrocola, category manager transportation at Petro-Canada Lubricants, stated: “DURON UHP 10W-30 represents the next step in heavy-duty engine oil technology, offering fleets the ability to fully leverage modern engine technology advancements,” said Melissa Mastrocola, Category Manager Transportation, for Petro-Canada Lubricants.

DURON UHP 10W-30 has been developed to exceed industry standards, meeting and surpassing OEM specifications for API CK-4 and previous API service categories.
