Pertamina announces new leadership to drive energy transition
Indonesia’s Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has announced significant changes to the leadership of PT Pertamina (Persero), appointing new members to the board of directors and commissioners during the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS). The leadership shift is part of a routine process mandated by governmental authority over state-owned enterprises, represented by the Minister of BUMN.
In accordance with Decrees SK-258/MBU/11/2024 and SK-259/MBU/11/2024, Mochamad Iriawan has been named as president commissioner, while Dony Oskaria takes on the role of deputy president commissioner. Raden Adjeng Sondaryani joins as independent commissioner.
Simon Aloysius Mantiri steps in as president director of Pertamina, succeeding Nicke Widyawati who has held the post since 2018. Mantiri was previously Pertamina’s chief commissioner.
“This leadership change is both necessary and regulated, ensuring Pertamina remains on a progressive track,” said Fadjar Djoko Santoso, vice president of Corporate Communication at Pertamina. He added that the outgoing board has left a solid foundation for Pertamina’s continued advancement towards energy security and sustainable operations.
The newly appointed commissioners and directors bring diverse experience and expertise to Pertamina. Iriawan previously served as main secretary of Indonesia’s National Resilience Institute, while Oskaria is currently the deputy minister of SOEs. Sondaryani was formerly associated with Trisakti University as chair of the Petroleum Alumni Association.
The restructured board of directors and commissioners reflects Pertamina’s commitment to the energy transition, with a focus on reaching net zero emissions by 2060 and promoting Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles across its operations.
