Oel-Pool, Moveri to acquire bp filling stations in Switzerland

Oel-Pool AG, one of the leading Swiss companies in the supply of liquid fuels, and Moveri AG have agreed to take over the petrol station network and the supply structure of bp in Switzerland. This will make Oel-Pool AG, and its subsidiary Moveri AG, the largest provider in the petrol station sector in Switzerland.

“The propellant and fuel market is declining in Switzerland. Therefore, mergers with the resulting synergies are the logical consequence: With this merger, a solid financial position and a dynamic corporate culture, our company is very well positioned and also has enough resources to shape the future of the Swiss energy market and to create a new, CO 2 -free one Invest energies,” said Ramon Werner, Oel-Pool AG CEO.

Both Oel-Pool AG and Moveri AG belong to the Volare Group AG, which is active in trade, production and the real estate industry. Moveri AG operates over 330 Ruedi-Rüssel and Miniprix petrol stations. There are also 200 filling stations operated under the bp and Shell brands.

Attractive partner for liquid energy sources

The agreement is a milestone for Oel-Pool AG and Moveri AG, the operator of the filling stations, which is seen as a strategic step to becoming an attractive partner for liquid energy sources for heating and mobility in the future.

“On the one hand, bp is an established brand in the market that has many petrol stations in good locations. On the other hand, the new situation allows us to create synergies when purchasing products and making better use of the tank farm,” said Werner.

The bp brand, the premium fuels and the convenience stores will be retained after the takeover. Around 30 employees from the Swiss branch of bp will be absorbed.

The transaction is subject to approval by the Competition Commission WEKO.
