NYCO’s synthetic ester base stock gets NSF HX-1 certification

Paris-based NYCO announced that it has recently gained NSF HX-1 registration for NYCOBASE 43608 FG, an ISO VG 320 complex ester.

NYCOBASE FG series include seven ester base stocks suitable for the formulation of H1 lubricants for incidental food contact. These oils are used in multiple applications including hydraulic fluids, gear oils, compressor oils, greases and chains lubricants.

The company said that its products from the NYCOBASE FG series are also Halal- and Kosher-certified, show high biodegradability and renewability levels, and possess superior thermal stability as well as good low-temperature properties.

NYCO’s state-of-the-art production site, NYCO-STPC, is located in Tournai, Belgium.

Lubricants intended for use in food production are registered with Ann Arbor, Mich., U.S.A.-based NSF International as either H1, H2 or H3, depending on the intended application and formulation. HX-1 are ingredients for use in H1 Lubricants (incidental contact). Registration is voluntary and simply requires a review of the product ingredients with a list of compounds known to be “safe” for incidental food contact at low levels.
