Norac Additives expands with new esterification line in Arkansas

Norac Additives, a prominent manufacturer of oleochemical additives, has initiated the construction of a new esterification line at its plant in Helena, Arkansas, U.S.A. This groundbreaking project is set to enhance Norac’s production capacity by introducing a line specifically for esters, which are vital in industries such as plastics and lubricants.

Since its establishment in 1990, the Helena facility has been a key production site for metallic soaps and dispersions. With this expansion, the plant will produce both solid esters for plastics applications and liquid esters for the lubricant industry. The technology used in this new line mirrors the esterification technology implemented at the Peter Greven Group’s headquarters in Germany, ensuring the same high-quality products.

“The expansion reflects our dedication to grow and develop the U.S. business. This new facility will not only enhance the product offerings and create new job opportunities but also reinforce our position in the oleochemical industry,” said Peter Greven, managing director of the Peter Greven Group, who attended the ceremony alongside Carsten Rader, also a managing director.

The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, with production slated to begin shortly thereafter. The company did not disclose the capacity of the new ester facility.
