InterBattery, EV Seoul, EV Engineering & Testing – Battery and Electric Car Expos to Change Automotive Future
SEOUL, South Korea, Nov. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Amid growing global interest in electric cars, one of the world's top three expos on secondary batteries, InterBattery 2017, anelectric car expo held only in Seoul; EV Seoul 2017; and Korea's lone expo on electric car engineering EV Engineering & Testing were simultaneously held Sept. 27~29 at the Seoul COEX.
Following the other two members of the top three battery industry expos – Battery Japan and CIBF (China International Battery Fair) – InterBattery showed cutting-edge battery technology as plenty of global battery companies including LG Chem, Samsung SDI, ECOPRO, L&F, POSCO Chemtech and POSCO ESM participated. LG Chem displayed the "Energy City" room to suggest a blueprint for electric car batteries, ESS and IT. Samsung SDI prepared an educational space on the role of the battery, which is indispensable in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and showed next-generation batteries including one with a solid state core that maximizes safety. Standard Energy exhibited the Redox Flow battery for the first time in Korea. This eco-friendly bulk secondary battery enjoys high safety without the risk of explosion and has a long lifespan.
Sponsored by Seoul City Hall, EV Seoul, which has been held three times, featured items such as electric cars of BMW Korea, Renault and Samsung Motors to electric buses including PMGROW and the charging infrastructure of GNTEL and KLIN ELEX.
The simultaneous hosting of Korea's only electric car engineering expo EV Engineering & Testing and InterBattery allowed deeper and richer content on electric car content. One hundred companies and 3,000 engineers participated in fields such as EV testing and engineering and connected cars to meet the ever-changing demand of automotive engineers.
The Battery Conference, held as a concurrent event, had global battery experts from Lishen China and Panasonic Japan participated as speakers; talks were also held on the conditions and future of the global battery market including those of China, Japan, the U.S. and India. On Sept. 27, workers from the battery and electric car fields were invited to "Battery/Electric Car Networking Night."
InterBattery 2018 will be held Oct. 10~12 next year at the Seoul COEX. Information about the expo is available from the COEX Exhibition 2 Team (+82-2-6000-1065) http://interbattery.or.kr/.
