Air Liquide China wins “Excellent CSR” and “Environment, Social and Governance” awards

SHANGHAI, Dec. 22, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — On December 22, Air Liquide China's green electricity consumption project was lauded at the "2017 Excellent CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Practices of Foreign-Invested Enterprises in China" award ceremony held in Beijing. This case study, together with 72 others, was compiled into a CSR report and released at the same event. The award ceremony was organized jointly by the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment and the China WTO Tribune.

Echoing China's vision for a low-carbon society, and supporting Air Liquide Group's Corporate Sustainability Program (CSP), Air Liquide China has steadily increased the use of green electricity (including wind power, nuclear power, solar power, etc.) in its daily operations. To better promote green electricity, the company also joined Green Electricity Consumption Cooperation Organization (GECCO) as one of its first corporate members this year.

Earlier this month, Air Liquide China also received in Beijing the ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) Communications Award from PR Newswire, a leading global provider of news release distribution and multimedia platforms. The award acknowledges Air Liquide China's active involvement in and communication of its corporate social responsibility activities as well as the company's commitment to sustainable business development.

Marcelo Fioranelli, Vice President of Air Liquide Greater China, commented: "It's our honor to receive these awards, which recognize our unwavering commitment to CSR. Air Liquide China will continue advocating a responsible corporate citizen mindset both in our business operations and CSR initiatives. We are proud to contribute to the sustainability of the local communities in which we operate."

In 2016, Air Liquide launched a five-pillar Corporate Sustainability Program (CSP) which focuses on: contributing to cleaner industries, contributing to cleaner transportation, producing clean, buying clean, and reinforcing community involvement. Today the CSP enhances Air Liquide China's efforts to foster a more sustainable world.
