Air Liquide China Again Wins “Responsible Brand” Award at 2016 China Charity Festival
SHANGHAI, Jan. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — On January 10, Air Liquide China was presented with "Responsible Brand" award at 2016 China Charity Festival in Beijing. This marks the second time for Air Liquide China to win the award at the annual event, which acknowledges the company's commendable corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices.
Co-organized by nearly 30 Chinese media, including China News Agency and China Daily, the China Charity Festival is dedicated to promoting charitable spirit and deeds. The event selects candidate companies via self-applications and third-party recommendations, and then evaluates CSR projects according to indicators including credibility, creativity, adaptability and sustainability.
Commenting on the award, Marcelo Fioranelli, Vice President of Air Liquide Greater China, said: "Air Liquide China has been encouraging employees to help develop the communities we interact with, echoing our sustainability program. The new CSR projects we launched this year well reflect this mindset, to share our strong safety culture and deep safety knowledge with local communities. The projects were initiated and organized by our employees, with the company's support. This honorable award not only recognizes our efforts in CSR, but also helps us to engage more employees to this worthy cause."
During 2016, Air Liquide China supported two new CSR projects initiated by its employees especially focusing on safety. First was the "Marathon First Responder" program, in which 20 trained employees volunteered as first responders for large-scale sports events held in Shanghai, including the 2016 Shanghai International Marathon. Second, the "Road Safety Lectures" project involved a number of employees visiting primary schools and local communities to promote road safety knowledge. Both activities received positive feedback from employees and local communities. In addition, Air Liquide China continues to promote existing CSR initiatives including the annual tree-planting event "Green Action" and the recycled computer donation program "Air Liquide Computer Classroom".
