2022 Green Energy Innovation and Startups Expo 11/17 Grand Opening
Hundreds of Companies will be Attending
TAINAN, Taiwan, Nov. 17, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Tainan City Government and the Bureau of Energy are working together to organize the 2022 Green Energy Innovation and Startups Expo, which opened at 10:00 on November 17th in the eastern exhibition area on the first floor of the ICC Tainan. The opening ceremony was held by Director General Yu Cheng-Wei of the Bureau of Energy and Tainan City's Deputy Mayor Tai Chien. Together, they opened the prelude to the "Smart Green Era." The event was attended by over half of Tainan's local startups and nearly 100 companies that have a combined capital of over NT$1 trillion. A total of 114 top-tier green startup teams displayed their newest technology and product services. In addition to the two-day professional exhibition, there will be an investment promotion seminar, industry forum, innovative application exchange gathering, and commercial matchmaking to promote insight into the green industry trend and industry exchange. The goal is to create collaboration opportunities among different industries.
Director General Yu Cheng-Wei of the Bureau of Energy states that 12 key strategies for net zero transformation has already been set for the 2 050 zero carbon emission goal. Renewable energy plays an important role in reducing emissions; we should actively develop different types of energy environment, such as wind power, hydrogen, geothermal, biomass, and carbon capture. The Science City will also play a pioneering role to become the new paradigm for innovative energy management and smart power grids.
Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-Che indicated that Shalun and the Southern Taiwan Science Park are the twin engines that drive Tainan's industry development. The two areas are expected to create 84,000 jobs and produce over NT$1.1 trillion in industry value annually. This exhibition will express the abundant construction results of the Shalun Smart Green Energy Science City, which has established an outstanding development environment for the smart green industry. The exhibition will also allow more outstanding domestic and international smart green energy vendors to move into the park area. The Science City also integrates surrounding industry, academic, and research resources to drive technological innovation and application studies. This has made the Science City into a key international technology location that provides great contributions to the domestic smart green energy industry.
Director Chen Kai-Ling of the Economic Development Bureau added that during the two-day professional exhibition, a commercial matching area will be set up so that corporations can engage in commercial talks one-on-one. New technology and service demonstrations and announcements for corporations will be arranged in the stage area to create new cross-industry collaboration opportunities for the smart green energy industry. The annual industry exchange forum: "Green Future – Smart Tainan" will be held in the afternoon of November 17th on the third floor (Hall A) of the ICC Tainan. Registration for this forum was competitive, and the registration slots were filled before the exhibition began. To enable the public to experience what daily life can be like with green energy technology, a "Green Future Experience Pavilion" has been planned for the exhibition by the city government. An edutainment method with immersive experience is used to show the public what new green energy tools are like and to help them apply knowledge they have acquired. Visitors can ride through a green energy tunnel on a green vehicle, which have been very popular with them. The city government strongly encourages the public to visit the exhibition and will gift the first 100 early birds on the 18th with wheat straws and the first 100 visitors to enter the exhibition with green energy glass cup vouchers.
