Neste delivers renewable diesel to Singapore’s marine sector
Neste Corporation, in collaboration with KPI OceanConnect and Global Energy, has achieved a milestone by delivering Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ to the marine sector in Singapore. This marks the first instance of renewable diesel being supplied to marine players in the Asia-Pacific region, including cruise ships operating in Singapore.
Neste MY Renewable Diesel is a sustainable fuel alternative made from 100% renewable raw materials, offering a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions over its lifecycle compared to fossil diesel. It is a drop-in solution, requiring no modifications to diesel engines or existing fuel infrastructure, making it a practical choice for sustainability initiatives.

Founded in 1992, Global Energy Group is a leading marine service provider, owning and operating 25 tankers for marine fuel supply in Singapore and Fujairah. Its subsidiaries, Global Energy Trading Pte Ltd and Stellar Shipmanagement Services Pte Ltd, handle core operations. The group is dedicated to delivering premium bunkering services and offers alternative marine fuels to support the industry’s decarbonisation efforts.
“This first supply of Neste MY Renewable Diesel to the marine sector in Asia-Pacific marks a significant milestone for the industry and demonstrates the versatility of the product across a wide range of applications where it can replace fossil diesel. It is an effective solution for enabling the marine sector to be more sustainable,” said Ee Pin Lee, head of Commercial APAC, Renewable Products at Neste.
Jesper Sørensen, head of Alternative Fuels and Carbon Markets at KPI OceanConnect, emphasised the collaboration’s impact: “By working closely with Neste and Global Energy, we were able to offer a high-quality biofuel to our client, laying the groundwork for further fuel uptake and decarbonisation progress.”
