Motul partners with Nor Movil in Peru to expand market presence
French lubricants manufacturer and marketer Motul has entered into a partnership with Nor Movil to help expand its market presence in the provinces, said Jose Carlos Chavez, marketing manager for lubricants at Grupo Socopur, the local representative of Motul in Peru. Socopur, founded n 1979, is a Peruvian-based company dedicated to importing and representing foreign vehicle brands, spare parts, accessories, as well as clothing for the automotive world. It has five business lines, including lubricants, and has more than 1,500 distributors in the country.
Motul is already present in 20 independent garages and around eight lubricant centres in the capital city of Lima.
Lambayeque and Piura, located in the northwestern regions of Peru, with a large motorbike population, are among the new markets being targeted for expansion. Motorcycle oil is one of Motul’s key market segments.
Motul had annual sales of USD 10 million in Peru last year.
