Mauser expands Haiyan facility to include sustainable IBC production

Mauser Packaging Solutions, a global leader in lifecycle packaging solutions, has announced the expansion of its Haiyan, China, facility to include the production of intermediate bulk containers (IBCs). This strategic investment reflects the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and addressing the rising demand for IBCs in the region.

The upgraded facility now features state-of-the-art equipment for manufacturing UN-certified IBCs, catering to the chemical, food, and additive industries. The expanded capabilities also bolster Mauser’s Infinity Series IBC line, which incorporates Recolene®, a high-quality recycled plastic produced in-house from industrial packaging collected via the company’s Recover Syst-M.

Infinity Series IBCs are designed to:

  • Reduce waste through recycling end-of-life materials.
  • Conserve raw materials by reusing industrial packaging.
  • Lower greenhouse gas emissions, promoting a circular economy.

“We are proud to further strengthen our commitment to supporting the Chinese market and multinational customers,” said Ali Ozbudak, vice president, head of Asia Pacific. “This investment is not only about meeting growing demand on the Chinese market, but also about driving sustainability and innovation – values that are at the core of Mauser Packaging Solutions.”

The Haiyan facility also manufactures various plastic drums and boasts multiple certifications, including:

  • ISO 9001, 14001, 22000, HACCP, and the globally recognised FSSC 22000 (Food Safety System Certification).
  • A 10K grade clean room, enabling the production of high-purity containers suitable for industries with stringent quality requirements.
