Lubrizol taps Rick Tolin to head advanced materials business segment
Lubrizol Corporation announced the appointment of Rick Tolin as corporate senior vice president and president of Lubrizol Advanced Materials (LZAM), effective immediately. He replaces Eric R. Schnur who has been promoted to Lubrizol president.
Tolin will oversee the LZAM business segment, a leading global producer of advanced specialty polymers, polymer-based additives and chemical additives used in everyday consumer and industrial applications. The segment businesses include Engineered Polymers, Personal and Home Care, Performance Coatings and LifeSciences.
“Rick’s broad experience and strategic insight will strengthen Lubrizol Advanced Materials as an industry leader. He has a proven track record of successfully leading significant business initiatives and delivering results. I am confident Advanced Materials will be very successful under Rick’s leadership,” Schnur said.
Tolin joined Lubrizol in 1993 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in sales, marketing and international business management within the company’s coatings and personal care businesses. In 2011, he was named vice president and general manager of the personal and home care business of LZAM. Prior to joining Lubrizol, Tolin worked at specialty chemical firms RITA Corporation and Carroll Scientific in technical, sales and business management roles. Tolin attended St. Joseph’s College and the University of Notre Dame where he received Bachelor of Science degrees in Physics and in Mathematics.
