Lubrizol announces executive appointments in Europe, India

Lubrizol, a leading specialty chemical company based in Wickliffe, Ohio, U.S.A., recently announced the appointment of Sander van Donk as vice president of Europe. With more than two decades of global experience in transformational business leadership, growth strategies, and research and technology, van Donk brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. Since joining Lubrizol at the beginning of 2024 as vice president of Lubrizol Additives Europe, he has made significant strides in driving the company’s strategy and strengthening its value proposition in a competitive landscape.

In his new role, Sander will lead Lubrizol’s activities in Europe, focusing on business consolidation, enterprise operations, commercial excellence, and customer centricity. His leadership is expected to drive profitable growth and align all functions within the region.

Prior to joining Lubrizol, Sander held various senior positions at Sulzer, Neste, Honeywell, and TotalEnergies, where he demonstrated his ability to lead global business units, develop and implement strategies, and drive sales and marketing efforts.

Lubrizol also recently announced the appointment of Bhavana Bindra as the managing director for India, Middle East & Africa (IMEA). This strategic appointment aligns with Lubrizol’s ambitious growth objectives and continued dedication to the IMEA region.

With a distinguished career spanning more than two decades in the manufacturing industry, Bindra has held key positions with notable companies such as REHAU, a multinational company that specialises in polymer-based solutions for various industries, including construction, automotive, and industrial applications with headquarters in Germany, and Cummins India.

Bindra will collaborate closely with Lubrizol’s global leaders to identify and capitalise on market opportunities while strengthening relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders in the region. Additionally, she will oversee the operations of a new Global Capability Center in Pune, India, which is set to become a key hub for supporting Lubrizol’s regional growth initiatives.

Lubrizol’s ongoing commitment to the IMEA region is further evidenced by its planned USD150 million investment in India, which includes the construction of the world’s largest CPVC resin plant in Vilayat, India, set to be operational in 2025.

Both appointments reinforce the organisation’s commitment to strengthen its local-for-local approach through in-region leadership and core capabilities that support its customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders across the industries and markets it serves.
