Zhenhua to build refinery in north
China Zhenhua Oil Co. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of China North Industries Corporation, has begun the construction of its first oil refinery in Liaoning Province, Eastern China. The plant, which will mainly manufacture diesel fuel and ethylene, is scheduled for completion in 2009. The plant’s first phase has a designed daily output capacity that will reach 80,330 barrels, which will increase to 160,660 barrels at the end of 2010. Zhenhua Oil will have to import Ural crude oil from Russia. China North Industries is a large state-owned enterprise, engaged in the trading of special products and special-purpose equipment, construction and engineering services. (July 5, 2007)
