Yushiro to boost output of oils for manufacturing solar cells
Japanese company Yushiro Chemical Industry Co. said it will outsource to Germany the production of its cutting oils for silicone used in solar cells and may also build a manufacturing plant in China. It will initially tie up with local manufacturers instead of building its own plants overseas and has promised its partners to upgrade their plants. It will consider constructing plants in Germany and China if orders for its products increase, the company said. Yushiro expects to start production at a German chemical manufacturer’s plant in April, and will install new water purifying facilities for cleaning reactors there. Its subsidiary in Shanghai, China, will get its reaction vessels upgraded, as well as other equipment, and will begin making oils for solar cells during the first quarter of 2009. (February 6, 2009)
