Yip's Chemical to produce butyl acrylate in Guangdong

Hong Kong-listed Yip’s Chemical Holdings Ltd. will build a butyl acrylate plant with an annual output of 80,000 metric tons in Guangdong’s Jiangmen City, according to a report by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation. Investment in the plant is approximately 300 million yuan (US$46.9 million). Industry analysts say China’s demand for butyl acrylate is about 1.5 million metric tons a year, with an annual growth rate of more than 10%. Guangdong province currently has no butyl acrylate plant, yet 30% of China’s demand comes from the province. YCHL will earn 1.6 billion yuan (US$250.1 million) from butyl acrylate sales, according to Ye Zixuan, company vice president. YCHL has three core businesses: solvents, coatings and lubricants.
