Yamaha to construct motorcycle plant in Pakistan

Yamaha Corporation announced that it will invest US$150 million to construct a motorcycle plant in Karachi, Pakistan. The investment will provide job opportunities for some 45,000 people, as well as technology transfer. During a meeting with a delegation from Yamaha, Advisor to Prime Minster on Industries, Mohammed Basharat Raja, said that Pakistan now produces 1.5 million motorcycles per annum, some of which are exported to neighboring countries.
