Vung Ro refinery to boost capacity to 8 million tons

Authorities in the central province of Phu Yen, Vietnam are working with Vung Ro Oil and Gas Co. Ltd. to discuss a plan to raise the annual capacity of the Vung Ro oil refinery to eight million tons, from the current 4 million ton design. The plan will be submitted to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung for approval. Vung Ro expects to kick-start the US$1.7 billion refinery on a 400-hectare area in the Dong Hoa district in 2011.  (December 16, 2010)
