Vopak's Jakarta terminal receives first oil cargo

Terminal operator Vopak will commission its new terminal at Tanjung Priok port in Jakarta, Indonesia, in December when its first batch of oil is scheduled to arrive, the company said. With a capacity of 250,000 cubic meters, the independent petroleum storage terminal will be able to store high speed diesel, 92 and 95 RON gasoline and biofuels. “We aim to have five to seven customers but we have not finalized the deals,” said President-Director of Vopak Terminal Jakarta Mark Noordhoek-Hegt. Vopak declined to say which companies it is in talks with for the leasing of storage tanks. The terminal, which is expected to be fully operational in 2010, was financed by Jakarta Tank Terminal through a US$60 million deal signed in May this year. (November 12, 2009)
