Volvo to receive grant to develop fuel-efficient tractor trailers
Volvo AB will receive US$19 million through the U.S. Department of Energy to develop more fuel-efficient tractor trailers. The five-year project is part of a SuperTruck initiative. The project will be completed at the company’s powertrain assembly plant in Hagerstown and in Greensboro, North Carolina. Daimler, Cummins and Navistar also received similar grant funding under the same SuperTruck program. (August 16, 2011)
