Volkswagen plans to raise car exports to China to 200,000 units in 2013

In a move to absorb part of its output capacity in Europe, German carmaker Volkswagen is planning to boost car exports to China to 200,000 units in 2013, according to a report on the industry information provider auto.gasgoo.com.
Volkswagen sold 704,919 cars in China in the third quarter, including domestically produced vehicles with Chinese joint ventures, as well as those that were directly imported, an increase of 20.6% year-on-year.
January-September sales in the worldโ€™s largest auto market reached 2,004,719 vehicles, 18.5% over the same period in 2011.
The auto giant earlier announced that a total of 75 Volkswagen car models would be available in the Chinese market by 2015. Out of these, about 32 models would be assembled by local CKD plants and 43 models would be directly imported. (November 2, 2012)
