Vietnam's Petrolimex gets license for fuel trading in Laos
In the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and Prime Minister of Laos, Thongsing Thammavong, Vietnam National Petroleum Corp. (Petrolimex) received in early September, a permit to establish networks of fuel trading and distribution in Laos. Petrolimex, Vietnam’s top fuel trader, will work with Chevron Corp. in the trade and distribution of petroleum and oil products in Laos. The company currently runs a network of 2,016 stores and petrol stations in Vietnam and has set up units in Singapore and Cambodia. Chevron is the third largest company in oil reserve and the fourth largest in oil and gas production in the world. (September 12, 2011)
