Vietnam’s Dung Quat plant begins operations

After 33 months of construction and trial operations, the Dung Quat ethanol production plant in Vietnam’s central province of Quang Ngai produced its first batch on February 3. The facility is currently running at 65% of its capacity of 100 million liters of ethanol annually. The production plant, including four workshops, is expected to run at full capacity after a month of operation. The 2 trillion dong-plant is scheduled to be turned over to the investor, Central Petroleum Bio-ethanol JSC on the 37th liberation anniversary of Quang Ngai province on March 24. The ethanol production plant is located at the Dung Quat Economic Zone. It is expected to supply the domestic demand for bio-petrol, offer jobs, help local farmers and reduce environmental pollution.
