Vietnam’s central province invites investors for planned refinery
Vietnamese authorities in the central province of Ha Tinh are looking for investors in an oil refinery and petrochemical complex with an annual refining throughput of 16 million tons of crude. To be located in the Vung Ang Economic Zone, the complex will require a total investment of US$12.47 billion. Vietnam, the world’s 13th most populous nation, with 86.5 million people, has only one oil refinery in the central province of Quang Ngai. The country plans to put into operation five to six oil refineries by 2015 to meet rising domestic demand for petroleum products. (March 24,2011)
