Vietnam to tighten control over petroleum trading activities

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has recently issued a regulation to tighten control over petroleum trading activities across Vietnam, the Thoi bao Kinh te newspaper reported. Petroleum trading institutions including general agents, ordinary agents, and filling stations will be allowed to sign retail contracts with one wholesaler each in the same distribution network as well as use only one common brand, the ministry said. The ministry bans general agents and ordinary agents to receive unoriginal petroleum products to sell at their filling stations. (December 23, 2009)
