Vietnam to draw up incentives for biofuel production

Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has told the Ministry of Industry and Trade to work with related ministries to draw up policy incentives for producers, traders and users of biofuels. The ministry is tasked with building proper biofuel distribution networks around the country, according to an announcement issued by the government office. The industrial ministry is also responsible for cooperating with the agriculture ministry to formulate a project to produce alcohol to supply biofuel manufacturers. The plan puts the total annual cost at VND29 billion (US$1.52 million) until 2015. (June 29, 2010)
