Vietnam proposes to tighten control over petroleum trading
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam is collecting opinions on a draft circular to tighten control over petroleum trading nationwide. The country will ban operations of any filling stations that do not belong to petrol wholesalers or distribution networks by general agents, the Thanh Nien newspaper reported. Wholesalers are allowed to deliver petroleum only to trading companies under their agent networks, while agents must ensure consistent supply. Filling stations must sell petroleum at prices set by wholesalers. (November 13, 2009)
